Disabled girl?s mugging ignored by witnesses
A visually impaired teenage girl who was robbed twice in three weeks has said she was ignored by passers-by on both occasions.
Kimberly Lappin, 17, was robbed at knife point on the second occasion, but still five people walked past without helping.
Kimberly said that she had even asked one passing middle-aged man for help.
?I told him I?d just been mugged, but he just said: ?What do you want me to do about it?? Another four people walked past and ignored me?, said Kimberly.
?All I wanted was someone to walk home with me. I was afraid he might come back for my bag.?
Since the attacks, Kimberly says her confidence has been shattered. ?I feel worried about going out now,? she said. ?But I try not to let it affect me.?
She added: ?I have to trust people when I am out and about.?
