British Car Auctions raise funds for national charity Motability
Robin Lawton, Head of Classics at British Car Auctions (BCA), presented national disability charity, Motability, with a cheque for £1,415. The presentation took place on Tuesday 26th February 2008 at the BCA Auction Centre, Blackbushe Airport, Blackwater, Camberley, Surrey, GU17 9LG. Over 470,000 people currently enjoy the personal freedom and independence that leasing a car through the Motability Scheme brings. Each year some customers need extra financial support to be able to afford the complex mobility solutions they need. Motability raises money to help, often through corporate donations from companies such as BCA. Robin Lawton said: "We are delighted to continue our support for Motability by making a donation for every catalogue sold throughout our annual classic auction programme." "It is all too easy to take our cars and the freedom they give us to travel when and where we like for granted. Motability gives this opportunity of mobility to disabled people and makes it affordable." Receiving the cheque on behalf of Motability, Lucy Tyler, Corporate Accounts Manager, said: "I would like to thank BCA and particularly the Classic & Historic Division for their continued support over the years." "Since 1990, BCA has donated nearly ?40,000 to Motability through this initiative, giving many customers the means to pursue their hobbies, education and employment, and live their day to day lives independently without having to rely on others for help." www.motability.co.uk
