Players needed for 5-a-side Football Charity Challenge

Motability are hosting an annual 5-a-side Football Charity Challenge.

Enthusiastic adult players with all levels of football skills are needed to take part in the tournament and have fun raising money for national disability charity, Motability.

The football challenge will take place on Saturday 14 June 2008, at the JJB Soccerdome, Pride Park, Derby.

Teams of eight are needed to take part, made up of five players and three substitutes.

An entry fee of £475 entitles each team to an action-packed afternoon, which includes exclusive use of the facilities, refreshments on arrival, participation in the tournament, a team photo and buffet lunch.

Paul Merson, former Arsenal, Middlesbrough, Portsmouth, Aston Villa England player and regular pundit on Sky Sports News, will be available to offer tips and advice as well as pose for photos and present the prizes.

The winners of the tournament will be rewarded with a visit to Chelsea Football Club with full hospitality, courtesy of Autoglass. Teams can warm up on outdoor pitches from 11.00am, and play kicks off at the purpose-built soccer facility at 1.00pm.

FA referees will be officiating at all the matches. Aine Canavan, Motability Fundraising Events Co-ordinator, says: "Whether players just like a kick-about with friends or play in a team, this is their chance to compete at a state-of-the-art venue and win some fantastic prizes. Last years challenge raised over £20,000 and we?re hoping to make it even more this time round.

All the money raised will go into Motability's Charitable Grants fund, towards helping disabled people get the car and adaptations they need to lead a more independent life."

To book a place or for further details about entering a team in this year's 5-a-Side Football Charity Challenge sponsored by Royal & SunAlliance Motability, please contact Aine Canavan as soon as possible on 01279 632258 or email ainec@motability.co.uk.
