Budding writers have their say in new rough guide

Budding travel writers have the chance to see their work in print when the second edition of the Rough Guide to Accessible Britain launches early next year.

The Guide, which is supported by Motability Operations, the company that provides affordable motoring to disabled people, follows on the success of the 2008 edition, and will feature over 150 ideas and reviews for accessible days out.

Rough Guides and Motability Operations are looking for lively reviews to inspire readers, and to uncover lesser-know attractions throughout the UK. Reviews should be up to 250 words long and be both engaging and entertaining, as well as providing the essential information that a disabled visitor would need to be aware of.

Writers simply submit their reviews online at www.accessibleguide.co.uk by 7th November 2008.

The top five reviews will appear in print in the 2009 edition of the Rough Guide to Accessible Britain and the chosen writers will win a Rough Guide of their choice, as well as an advance copy of the new Guide featuring their winning review.

In addition, there is a top prize of £200 of Superbreak vouchers for the overall best review as voted for by the judging panel.

Martin Dunford, publishing director, Rough Guides, explains: "The second edition of the Rough Guide to Accessible Britain will be bigger and better than ever. It will be packed with more ideas, features and info to provide inspiration for great days out and the lowdown on what to expect in terms of accessibility. We want to hear from people throughout the UK who have discovered a day out which they think should feature in the new Guide. A selection of the best reviews will appear in the new edition, alongside reviews by professional Rough Guides writers."
