Travelling by car on your holiday gives you freedom and flexibility as well as taking the stress out of dealing with a largely inaccessible public transport system (not to mention cancellations and delays!).

Of course, there are other factors that you will need to consider if driving, such as finding your way, congestion, parking and, if you don't have a car, the cost of car hire.

If you are travelling with a large group, you may want to consider hiring a minibus or a small coach. This is often a good way of keeping the cost down and lets you share the driving.

If you want to avoid public transport, but are unable to drive, or don't want to drive, there are also organisations that will hire out a driver as well as a vehicle.
