Equipment for hire
There are various organisations that hire out equipment.
If you know that you will need to hire equipment for your holidays, it is a
good idea to contact the relevant organisation in advance to check on availability
and to make sure that the company has the right product for you.
The Red Cross Medical Loan Depots, National Headquarters, 9 Grosvenor
Crescent, London SW1X 7EJ, tel: 0207 235 5454. The British Red Cross Society
loans a limited range of equipment on a short-term basis. Depots are located
throughout the UK. Contact the Branch Headquarters to find out whether there
is a branch in the area you will be visiting, and contact the branch in advance.
Services offered include: attendant-pushed wheelchairs; self-propelling wheelchairs;
commodes; bed pans; urinals; back rests; bed cradles. Most branches will loan
equipment free, although, as the equipment requires regular maintenance and
renewal, a donation is always welcomed.

Bed and bed equipment hire
If you wish to hire a particular brand of bed or pressure relief system, you
should contact the manufacturer as they may have products available for hire.
