Toll concessions
Some bridges and tunnels offer concessions to motorists with disabilities. In some cases, to qualify for a concession you will need to apply in advance to the relevant bridge or tunnel. It is advisable to check with the owners or operators of the bridge or tunnel. Toll concessions
Clifton Suspension Bridge: West of Bristol. A special rate of £5 for unlimited crossings is available on production of the relevant certification if you recieve the higher rate of the mobility component of the DLA. Exemption for those exempt from the payment of Vehicle Excise Duty. www.dartfordrivercrossing.co.uk Forth Road Bridge: near Edinburgh, tel: 0131 319 1699. Vehicles carrying the blue badge are exempt. Exemption for those who receive the higher rate of the Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance and who possess a vehicle tax exemption certificate. Frequent users of the bridge can apply for a concession available to those in reciept of the higher rate mobility component of DLA. Those exempt from Vehicle Exise Duty may pass free of charge. M6 Motorway: Birmingham. Exemption is by way of an M6 toll mobility exemptions pass which must be applied for in advance by the eligible person for their nominated vehicle. No other evidence of disability will be accepted. The pass is valid for three years and is subject to an admin charge of £15.
