Application forms Applications packs are becoming more popular with large organisations and these packs will often contain a job specification and a person specification. The application form is your first opportunity to impress a prospective employer. An application form will not often be seen by the manager or people you will be working with, but by a member of the Personnel Team for short listing purposes. Any point made on an application form may be picked up at interview, so make sure that the information on the form is accurate and true and keep a copy of what you have written to prepare yourself for the interview. Another consideration for your application form, will be your declaration of your disability. If you have strong reason to believe that mentioning your disability will prevent you from being shortlisted, you can leave it off the application form, but you should mention it if offered the job. You will then have clear grounds for suing under the DDA if the offer is withdrawn.
