The Environment Agency is responsible for managing the water resources of England and Wales. We must ensure that there is sufficient water for the environment, public supply and for other human uses. Safeguarding our water resources for the future is a big challenge. Working in our Wales Regional Water Resources Planning team you will apply your technical expertise to a broad range of strategic water resources planning issues. You will work closely with water companies to influence and audit their strategic water resources plans and drought plans, and to appraise options for new water resources and demand management schemes. You will provide technical advice on a wide variety of strategic and spatial plans to ensure that water supply and environmental interests are protected. You will also play a role in taking forward our water efficiency and water resources strategies for Wales. With a sound understanding of water resources management issues, probably achieved through significant experience in water resources, hydrology or a related field you will also possess excellent communication and influencing skills.
