Environment Agency

Thames Barrier Learning Co-ordinator
£18,900 - £21,400 + benefits
Woolwich, London

Based at the unique Thames Barrier Information and Learning Centre, this exciting and challenging role will help us to achieve our ambitious aim of raising environmental awareness and delivering an educational resource at the same time.

In order to do this, we're looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and highly experienced individual who can keep the educating interesting and make the most of this rare opportunity.

You know what's needed when it comes to the national curriculum, so ensuring that our materials are updated accordingly isn't going to faze you.

Getting involved in everything from welcome talks to collating visitor numbers, you'll help to set up the classroom, lock up the buildings, and take responsibility for leading school visits and managing the shop.

Your environmental knowledge is partly thanks to a relevant degree and partly down to time spent in a similar role.

As such you'll be as at home handling groups led by teachers as you are with unsupervised groups.

Great communication skills are essential and you must be a confident and effective pubic speaker.

You'll also need IT skills that are as strong as your people skills.

For more information and to apply please visit www.environment-agency.gov.uk/jobs

Alternatively call 01925 542260 or email thames.recruitment@environment-agency.gov.uk for an application pack quoting ref: IRC24238.

If you are a disabled applicant meeting the minimum criteria we'll guarantee you an interview.

Closing date: 7 May 2008.

We are committed to making our organisation as diverse as the environment
