![]() Flood Incident Management Team Member Birchwood, Warrington £17,000 - £19,300 + benefits Climate change is affecting Britain in extreme ways. 5 million people, 2.2 million homes and 185,000 businesses are at risk from flooding in England and Wales, which equates in economic terms to £200 billion of property, land and assets. So clearly, the importance of our Flood Risk Management Programme can't be underestimated - and now comes your chance to play a key part. By planning for incidents and co-ordinating responses to flood events, you'll help minimise the impact on lives and property. Supporting the Flood Incident Management Team, you will provide them with Geographical Information System (GIS) mapping services, and by delivering training, manuals and procedures to our Incident staff, you'll make sure that our support systems are operational and can offer a first class service to people and property at risk from flooding. You may also work with the team in their efforts to raise awareness of flood risk in communities. You'll probably have a degree in environmental science, geography or hydrology or have some relevant work experience. Add computer literacy, ideally with some GIS experience, excellent communication and organisational skills and a customer-centred attitude, and you could you help us provide flood warnings that protect thousands of people.
