To do this we depend on the technical expertise of our staff. Indeed, as the issues become more complex it's critical that we have a pool of skilled people to deal with an array of challenging projects in the Midlands Region. Restoring Sustainable Abstraction (RSA) is a huge, diverse and challenging area for us. If abstraction by water companies, local business or industries is having a negative effect on the environment, we have the duty to control the situation and create lasting change. Not simply by 'policing' activities, but by understanding communities, building relationships and recommending solutions. Our RSA programme creates a framework for investigating and resolving issues right across England. This is a huge task and we need experienced individuals to represent us in each geographical area. Join them and you will make this role your own; getting to know the local area inside and out; looking at data to review the impact of abstractions on rivers and wetlands, and where appropriate sponsor or manage specific projects to restore affected sites in order to improve the water environment and its ecosystems.
