Members - Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution 20.5 days per year (to include meetings and preparation days) Remuneration is £213.90 per day + expenses The Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution (RCEP) is an independent body with responsibility for reviewing and anticipating trends and developments in environmental policy - identifying potential dangers to the environment and recommending national and international solutions. Working closely with a range of organisations including government departments, parliamentary committees and environmental groups, the RCEP provides factual advice to inform decision making and debate. Defra is currently seeking five outstanding individuals to join the RCEP, each with credibility and expertise in one of the following arenas: Science, Medicine, Economics, Business and Environmental Policy/Regulation. These roles will contribute to the RCEP's continuing success. Members present recommendations to the Sovereign on government policy, through individual and committee work. To be successful, you must have considerable expertise within your specific field, experience in a multi-disciplinary environment, a working knowledge of research methodology and an ability to bring a specific insight to issues both national and international concerning the pollution of the environment.
