(Job share up to 23 hours per week)
Worthing, West Sussex
£30,100 pro rata + benefits
The National Environmental Assessment Service (NEAS) is a key group within the Environment Agency. They take responsibility for the impact of our own £multi-million flood risk management schemes and strategies.
Faced with huge challenges such as climate change, we're now looking to build the team to support our rapidly expanding programme of projects.
It's a chance for you to join dedicated environmental project managers and technical specialists to find sustainable solutions and to create a better place for both people and wildlife.
Working closely with specialists from across the Environment Agency as well as statutory bodies, consultants and contractors, you'll ensure that our projects have minimal environmental impact.
You'll take responsibility for project managing the assessment of environmental risks and opportunities of Environment Agency projects and strategies.
And you'll uphold high standards in environmental design and contribute to national and regional targets. You'll also provide strategic advice on a range of assessments and wider sustainability issues to ensure projects and programmes meet our policies, objectives and legal compliance.
You'll need a strong technical background and the ability to inspire and lead projects and strategies. Possibly with a higher degree in environmental assessment, you'll have experience of carrying out Strategic Environmental Assessments. Being an Associate Member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) will put you at a distinct advantage.
