Mobility Roadshow

Despite the current economic climate and changes to vehicle finance packages for disabled people, advance test drive registrations for this year’s Mobility Roadshow are higher than in previous years. The Mobility Roadshow takes place at the Peterborough Arena, East of England Showground from 21st to 23rd June.
With still another three weeks before it opens, over 4,000 people have pre-registered for test drives of adapted or converted vehicles, either as a disabled driver or passenger.
“It is extremely encouraging to see that disabled people increasingly value the opportunity to review a range of marques and models in order to seek out the best vehicle configuration to complement their disability type,” said Jacqui Jones, Executive Director of Mobility Choice, the charity that organises the Mobility Roadshow. “And with several new models and conversions being unveiled by manufacturers, it is gratifying to see strong research and development investment, reflecting a confident industry sector.”
Many visitors, whether Motability customers or private owners, come to the Mobility Roadshow with one intent: to try as many vehicles as possible for accessibility, comfort and handling. High street showrooms carry few, if any, adapted vehicles: the Roadshow offers great choice in one place, with vehicles fitted with a variety of adaptations to suit different needs. New or inexperienced drivers need not be apprehensive. There are experienced accompanying drivers on all test drives and all vehicles are fitted with dual controls for safety.
Parking and entry to the Mobility Roadshow are free and visitors can register in advance atwww.mobilityroadshow.co.uk – driving licences are required on the day.
Mobility motoring has always been at the heart of this popular event and, as always, visitors will also be able to try out hundreds of new accessories, wheelchairs and scooters, health and fitness equipment, home products, accessible travel and miscellaneous gadgets and gizmos to enhance mobility towards a more independent lifestyle.
