Hi all,
I am wondering whether anyone could help me. I am currently in my 2nd year of univeristy and claim for certain grants, a bursary and have a loan (on standby).
My husband was claiming ESA 15 months ago for 12 months due to illness and passed the medical. We were also claiming for interest payments on our mortgage. My husaband has now had a operation and has now lost is temporary job due to this.
As i am in my last term of my 2nd year of university and am unsure whether we would be better off claiming as joint or single claimants for ESA. Furthermore I am unsure how they will work out the final amount and whether we would be better or worse off as the website says I dont HAVE to take the maintenance loan, yet if do/dont it is still classed as an income.
The DWP were not helpful this time or last time either, so I would be grateful for any advice given.
Many thanks in advance
