Hi everyone, I am on the higher rate mobility and personal care allowances but I will be 65 in January and I have no idea as to what or how much Attendance Allowance is is. Also does it change automatically or do I have to make a new claim? 6 months ago I was also told I have Alzthiemers just to add to everything else so I have started to try and get things sorted before I sign the LPA forms and from things I have been trying to read I lose a lot of money when it changes to AA. Because of the dementia I am only going to get worse so how can I need less money? It is really worrying me because like everyone else I have commitments and some of them I wouldnt be able to get out of till April next year. If this is the case I do not understand how they can suddenly decide that you are a day older so you dont need the same money that you have been receiving for a long time.
Any advice will be gratefully received.

You will as far as I know keep getting DLA, you do not need to re-apply.

AA is for people who have never claimed DLA and then make a claim after retirement
