Have used princess but not with a wheelchair user so that is good to know. The excursions sound interesting as i must admit the last time we cruised the med with a w/chair user the tours were not that good for them.
I also have been told by someone whoes husband uses a wheelchair that Fred Olsen is also very good, never cruised with them myself though so couldn't comment on them either.

I will check it out, if I ever get the chance to take a cruise. I need to know I can get on the boat for a start, lol.

Stephen I can always send you pictures of the accessible cabins etc. I have used my wheel chair for several cruises and always been able to get on the ship. I am sure I can find the right cruise for you.

Probably one of the best equipped ships for the disabled trveller who wants to see New York is the QM2. It is so disabled friendly that at mealtimes the 2 biggest problems are ablebodied guests being run over by speeding wheelchairs and finding a parking spot. ;0) Seriously thoough it does seem to be favourite for disabled travellers and when I have used my wheelchair on board it has never been a problem. A handy tip though is to take an electric wheelchair or scooter rather than a manual as the corridors are so long and you will end up with aching arms.

As I say Silver, if I can ever afford it I will fully avail myself of all info, TY.

OMG, the thought in my head is hundreds of wheelchairs is speeding up (Yes up) those staircases on ships to get the the buffet, lol.

Now that is another issue for me, walking & not having a seat nearby.

thanks for all the info/help, i wanted to drive down to southampton and take my own spectra powerchair and go on a 7 night cruise around the med or canaries but they dont seem to go when we want, june or aug or sept, and they seem to be for 10/11 nights.

but i the heard horror stories about a massive bar bill at the end off the holiday, im not tight and would want to be able to order what we want without worrying about the bill thats why i looked at the thomson ones.

i thin rc go from malaga and you can book a electric wheelchair from one of there agents

I think we all learnt a lot in this. You have more info now. Maybe you can find something you would like, even if it is not your first choice.

if you could send me some info, or send me a link, on bar prices i would be very grateful
