Hello everyone,
I've been reading the DLA Consultation paper on the DWP website and I came across question 20 of the new proposed policy. Am I missing the point here or have I misunderstood the situation?
I thought the whole point of re-assessing all of us that currently have DLA including ones with indefinate awards like myself, was to reduce the number of claimants but if the section below comes into effect, what would that mean?
The individual must comply with residence and presence rules
As copied from the DWP website:
20. We will continue to apply residence and presence conditions as part of the eligibility requirements for the receipt of Personal Independence Payment. Currently one of the conditions of receiving DLA is that someone is ordinarily resident in Great Britain. However we are considering moving towards a form of the habitual residence test to be consistent with other Department for Work and Pensions benefits.
