I don't quite understand why there are cars on the scheme with advance payments over £2000 when that is the limit - am I missing something?
I'm beginning to understand. I contacted Renault Motability to find out if they are still promoting the Renault Scenic Dynamique Auto. They are but the deposit is now £3040.
Reversing sensors £340
And I guess a car alarm will be about £250.
So the way they are getting around the 2k limit is that Motability just don't promote cars on their website over £2k advance payment.
The model I've quoted must have been subsidised by Motability pre 1 January as the AP has doubled. I wonder if that's because a new version is being launched next month.
Puzzled and disappointed.
Thanks for heads-up Paul, that's great news - I won't have to search every manufacturer website for their updated prices!
Motability Car History

Its strange that some manufaturers, and Renault seems to be one of them have pushed their prices up whislt others, like aAlfa Romeo and BMW have gone in the opposite direction. As I understand it Renault can only offer this model if the manual is under £2k, but I cannot check at present as Motability's website is down which I assume is for the car updates.
If you check out the wesite now you will see there are 1838 cars and 500 automatics with AP's of up to £4790 for a manual Megane? Does'nt make huge sense but assume renault must have a petrol model under £2k. There is also a BMW 3 series coupe, a 318i manual £2699. Have fun looking through.
Renault announced before Christmas that they were reducing the models available in the UK and replacing them with some hybrid models, but also they were reducing their amount of Motability cars available, so this is not surprisng they are increasing teh cost.
Asa Auto requirer, have you seen that the Quashqai2 NTEC is available now just below £2,000 when it was a lot more before, same for some of the normal quashqais as well. Added bonus, the car is manufactured in the UK, I believe strongly that if we are getting support from the Country, we should pay it back, not spend it on Foriegn cars, especially BMW's who killed and plundered the UK motor industry.
However, again, the downside is that well, yet again, Auto drivers have to choose a lower spec version.
Same for Ford S-Max and Grand C-Max and Mondeo.
Auto diabled discrimination going on here.....

My existing Auto Renault Scenic is the Dynamique - it meets all my access needs with comfortable seats, electronic handbrake on the right not left side. Easy access in and out. Level boot area, reversing sensors, car alarm etc.
In fact after the initial 3 year lease I couldn't see anything that matched the access so I extended the lease an extra two years. The car will be 5 years old in November 2012. As you can buy the Motability car at the end of the extended lease - I think I'll do that as a deposit for the new version with added features will cost more that the resale value of about £3400!
So sorry Motability you are no longer fit for purpose from my access point of view.
