June, so can order this month. I know an extension is possible but don't want to wait 3 or 4 more months for some new models which may be really good, but could be not so great and have high AP's or may not even make then scheme. what about you, when are you changing?
Looks like I was wrong about the numbers 1886/524.

Interesting read this thread guys!
We have been looking around for the last few weeks, and have the choices down to Merc B class 1.8TD se {the ride on the sport was to HARD!} The Kia Spotage and the Seat altea se 2.0td
We like the Mercedes but the dealers keep dropping little things into the conversation that are giving us doubts? They are saying it might be a long wait, unless we are prepared to just except whatever they can get us, and pay for the options that will be pre fitted to the car!!!
If you have seen the options list for Mercedes you will understand that this could get scary expensive fast! Then he asked us about colour choice and we said White, he said I think that is about an £800 option as mobility doesn’t like White cars. But all the other dealers have not said this when we say we want a White Car!
Well as there has been such a fuss over the Merc B Class I thoght I'd phone my local dealership to find out if they had one in stock to at least look at.
I spoke to the Motability specialist and he said they get at least 10 enquiries a day about this model. The only customers buying it are on the Motability scheme due to the 'ridiculously low AP' as he said.
People have also arranged to place deposits on the car with the aim of reserving the price.
If I was in a position to place an order today I wouldn't be able to take delivery until September - that's 5/6 months wait. as all dealerships in the UK have run out of models other than sold cars waiting to be picked up.
He said Mercedes have made a 'cock-up' with the pricing and the APs will be rising sharply next quarter.
It all sounds very interesting. So if you want one and your lease is nearly up don't worry as Motability would just extend your lease a few extra months to make sure you didn't go without a motor.
We are due to Change in June, the Mercedes Rep has booked us an appointment to come in and order on the 28th of March, as he will know the next quarter pricing then
He thinks we will get the car in a good time as the SE is easier to get hold of than the sport
They do not have a lot of leeway with the pricing, particularly if this new £3k cap comes in, BUT . its not Mercedes but motability who set the AP. One dealer told me their AP's fell by over £1000 but their discount remained the sameI must admit I had a smiliar problem with Mercedes a few years ago when looking at a C Class. It was basically take what we have in stock or you could be waiting ages. Having driven both the B180 and B200 I found neither particularly to my liking and would have been spending £1799 or £2399 for a badge, something I was not prepared to do. Maybe will shall see Mercedes exit Motability?

A don't think Mercedes will exit from Motability because there's a great demand for such a quality marque. It does make you wonder though if people are buying it for the badge or because it meets their access needs.
As I understand it you can have white at no extra cost. Mercedes dealers are split into two categories. The first are those owned by Mercedes and the second are independent. Those which they own get first choice of cars so may be worth finding out which category your local one falls into as they are more likely to be able to meet your needs.. If you call mercedes direct thay can tell you.
