About 12 weeks delivery. What car and model did you go for in the end? I am feeling a little lost too! Have to take up a hobby!

I went for the Kia Sportage 1.7tdi '2' spec for £949, didn't go for the '3' (£1799) and kept the money on the side as I don't know what's happening with PIP yet and may need it for....well who knows! Didn't go for the B-Class as I hated the Mercedes customer service in Colindale, they are absolutely rubbish and don't really care as much for Motability customers as they do for Retail.

6 weeks till delivery..... counting down

Maybe we should make a new thread for "after-service" of the companies we lease from, that way in future people can not only review cars, but the manufacturers rating too ?

1960 cars and 559 automatics to choose from. Just had a quick look, nothing brand new but a decent choice (number wise) across all car types.

Im glad I did not wait for the Volvo V40. Not on the scheme yet and although a fine looking car, Volvo still do not provide frugal automatics. 53.3mpg urban, falls to 40.9 with the auto and overall comsumption of 65.7, falls to 54.3. That would have cost me £1200 in extra fuel over 3 years compared to the 1 series.
VW, Seat. Skoda, BMW, Mercedes and others provide dual clutch automatics with similar (in some cases better) performance and fuel economy to manuals. In addition Volvo do not fit auto dimming rear view mirrors or rear parking sensors to any V40 models which add £475 to the cost of any AP. otherwise its a good spec and the manual, particulaly the D2 115hp is extremely frugal, 78.5mpg.
Incidentally with the new 115hp under 25 rule, there are some cars which show 116 & 117hp, BMW & Nissan mainly. I know with BMW they quote PS, not HP, so the 116ps is actually 114.4HP. Maybe it fails the under 25 test on Insurance group ratings?

Yesterday was just looking at dealer sites if they offered a wider variety of cars over what mobility had on their website and found one place doing a Ford Mondeo Saloon or Estate 2.2TDCI Titanium X Sport 200bhp manual for £2995 AP or £3,395 for automatic.. What a car I thought, obviously not feasible for my father. Just thought I'd put it out there for any of you petrol heads. Found from motorparks.co.uk

They even have the favourite S-MAX at this trim 2.2 TDCi 200PS Powershift MPV Titanium X Sport for £4,295 AP

I think you may find these are deals from last quarter or even older. Motability have strict £2k and £3k limits and dealers can only offer cars which are on Motability's own pricelist.

In this months Motability's magazine, Lifestyle, it says that Motability will provide more details of how the change from DLA to PIP will affect your lease, throughout 2012. Wonder if they will confirm that people who drop down to standard PIP will lose their cars?
