ESA 12 month rule can anyone update?

I know that much has been said about the 12 month limit being imposed on claimants but i have read or heard little about any protests regarding it.

Is it actually law now, or still to be rubber stamped? I wrote to a well known left wing newspaper about it , they did not print the letter, or even reply so i can only assume they are not interested, student loans and people on 40 odd grand seem of more interest.

If i have missed some news about it please advise. Edd seems very quiet on the subject but that's hardly surprising as all this, is an addition, to labours ideas.

    Regards jan

I still can't understand why there are so many articles in the papers, about things that they seem to regard as important, like someone being unable to pay their mortgage, if the interest rates go up, when they took on too large a mortgage to start with, yet i am supposed to receive little interest on my savings, and i remember the mortgage rate being 15%, they don't seem concerned that some people,my husband included may lose all their benefits.

My friend has 3 mortgages and rents out 2 houses, earns about 45k too, and her husband is self employed and doing well .They are still moaning about interest rates going up, and they may have to sell one of their horses or houses!!

Sorry for going a bit off topic, but i really can't understand the logic behind all these things, and why labour don't at least appose the 1 year rule.My husband worked 6 or 7 days a week before he was ill, was never unemployed and we never had any kids either to claim for, sorry you have probably heard this before!!

    REGARDS , and goodnight, Jan

    Hi Jan

Heard it all before ...yes....the same words rattle around my head day in and day out... you have voiced exactly what I think too....

The one thing I have noticed is that a site on Facebook disabled against cuts have tried to arrange a few demonstrations ...but last time I looked 11 positive going 33 maybe and over 800 not answered and 294 not able to go...trouble is the didabled can't fight back as they either can't travel, have no money to travel, have no one to travel with or are too scared to travel...for what ever reasons or too scared in case the demo is used against them this govenment knew we would not fight back and that they would get away with it

As far as the papers are concerned to be honest with you the ESA is so complicated that no one understands what it all means.... or who will get it and who won't they, and even some MPs still think the needy will be looked after

Good Luck with your letter keep me updated as I will you xxx
