    Dla wait

I applied for DLA in december. On the 17th jan they requested a GP report. They have until the 20th feb to decide. The woman from CAB said the fact they asked for GP report and the fact its taking yonks could be seen as positive (IHOP). Has anyone any belief this is true? Or am i clutching at straws?? Many thanks xxx

It does take time, doctors are notorious for taking their time. This is normal. You cannot read anything into it. You can try & hurry your GP up. It also depends on what yout GP says. Have to have hope, yes.

    Hi Stephen

I have just joined and wanted to know if you could help me ,i sent back my dla
renewal and the requested a report from my gp who told me she sent it back on
5th march ,i phoned yesterday to ask for an update an was told the decision maker
had sent my file to their medical dept the woman said it wasn't clear why this was
or for what reason, have you heard of this happening before and why they do it ??
any help would be appreciated also i'm curious as my gp told me if they asked her
for a report it should be enough for the decision maker

    Thanks Marie

you have to give them that many health problems need scans xrays blood tests....all they could do at some medicals is talk about how your affected by your illness

Welcome Marie. On this I assume, & it is an assumption, this means they will wish to have you examined by a doctor. This is normal, if this is the case. It happened to me & my mother. Since they said they do not know I am not sure as to why, but could be they want more proof. If could be that based on your situation they cannot make a decision & want to clarify something. Hopefully someone else can post more details for you.

    Hi Stephen

Thank you for replying, i asked the woman on the phone if i was getting a visit and she
said no not at the moment we got your gp report back and it looks like they sent it to medical
services maybe because they didn't understand something on the report and wanted their
opinion on it just to clear it up before making a decision ,i find it weird as when i was awarded
2yrs ago my gp report and a phone call from the decision maker to myself was enough

    Hi Stephen

Just wanted to let you know i spoke to my gp and told her what the woman on the
dla advice line said to me and she adviced me to call back and ask what was wrong
with her report, so i did and the out come was the woman said there is probably some medical
technical jargon that the decision maker doesn't understand as they're not doctors so
sometimes they send it to medical services for clarification, it's been there since mon she
said they should send it back soon ,will keep you updated i'm sure your as baffled and amused
as i am and would like to know the outcome

    Take Care

    Have a good weekend

Well, there you go then, we know. Someone has actually admitted they may not know what the hell they are doing, lol. That is the case, they do not have any medical or social care experience & they make decisions about our medical & care needs. They sent it to them? Have they not tried Googling? TY for the update, I shall await with baited breath, lol!
