The whole reason that we have to see such massive ciuts is down to Blair and his bunch of right wing Socialists who spent evey penny, every piece of Gold reserves we had whilst making 2 million manufacturing jobs dissapear abroad to be replaced by minimum wage service industry jobs.
That is not saying that i support Cameroon and his mini-me Liberal, they are as far away from true CXonservatism as Blair, infact cameroon is more of a Blairte than anything else. but please, don't denegrate those of us who fought in the Falklands and Northern ireland with such comments as you have done.
Warkman..u seem to have misunderstood my post.I have family who are in the armed forces and not once in my post did i make any comment on people who are serving now or served in the falklands. My comments were directed at Cameroon(as you call him in your post!) and Thatcher.I cannot see how you can come to the conclusion i am degenerating anyone who served in the falklands from my comments. The fact that i think it was a complete waste of time and money..and will be again..doesnt take away any respect i may have for the servicemen/women who have to go and fight the governments wars.He probably has less respect than me..as doubtlessly many an ex service person with disability problems will be getting their benefits stopped etc etc just like the rest of us right now.

Unfortunately, these days it seems that unless you've got limbs hanging off of your body or you're seeking asylum from abroad, your entitled to less and less. Your GP is probably right in that the more disabled you are (or can be,) the more help you'll get.

I agree that it's totally wrong and immoral. You should get what your entitled to without question, but I'm afraid it doesn't work like that anymore. I just wish that these idiots who make the decision to cut back on what are vital services to us, could spend a day in our shoes. They'd think twice about making such cut-backs if it effected them in the same way.

i agree with a post few up that the worse times are yet to come.

the reason it is so easy to cut benefits for the disabled and needy is because it is popular with british public.

All they know is what is read in papers, and every day usually splashed on front cover is another cheat / fraud etcetc on certain rags.

I already lost my £60 a month housing topup, my electric has taken £10 EXTRA per week ontop of what it was already taking direct out of IS.

Reading the criteria for both ESA and PIP i do meet the support group and higher pip rate, BUT....

I dont think they will do what they are supposed to. I am gonna say that i will be recording the interview for my own records as i have poor memory owing to certain meds.

A record of the interview, that could be useful later on.

I am a bit confused by that statement, it was Margaret Thatcher who introduced DLA in the first place and made it very much easier to claim than it is now.

She also applied all 'extras' to those on disabilities and receiving income support the same as pensioners.

She was the most disabled friendly PM before or since IMO whatever you think about the rest of her policies and politics.

A lot of people who come out with the anti Margaret Thatcher rhetoric were not old enough back in the 1982 to know what was available to the disabled before DLA or to find the incredibly positive change it made to many of our lives.

The Attendance allowance was brought in under Harold Wilson in 1970 and the Mobility allowance was brought in in 1977 under Jim Callaghan. The DLA is just an amalgam of the two.

If i was GP i would be up in arms about all these ATOS assessment and not so long ago IB medicals . By ordering people to go for either they are making all doctors out to be liars . Wether they be a lowly GP or a consultant surgeon . By not accepting their diagnosis they are calling them all liars nothing less .

It would seem most GPs do not want to do the assessments themselves anyway. Most want less work, why most have opted out of out-of-hours & pay someone else to do it.
