    Why bother

During a routine visit to the doctor we chatted about the changes to DLA & I expressed concern that the way things are going i may longer qualify as if you're breathing they reckon you can get a non-existant job.
her reply is simply that I should just stick to my wheelchair & i'll not be changed.
Now I've worked hard to get out of the bloody thing and alough somtimes it's necessary I like to think I am basically ablr to get around with a stick/crutches but without the DLA I will be totally stranded.
do we have to act helpless now?

She might be being sarcastic, but she has a point actually. Based on the new criteria I will lose out, yet I have not improved, & am in fact worse. This fear is worse than any other time I know of in my lifetime on work & benefits, & that included the bloody 80s.

This all sounds like that we have Margaret Thatcher as PM again. THE ULTIMATE RETURN OF THE 80s!

I wish that number 10 doorstep can be my own personal toilet. I don't care if I live 70 miles away as it is so worth it!

I hear too much C*** coming out of David Camerons mouth already...

I am a bit confused by that statement, it was Margaret Thatcher who introduced DLA in the first place and made it very much easier to claim than it is now.

She also applied all 'extras' to those on disabilities and receiving income support the same as pensioners.

She was the most disabled friendly PM before or since IMO whatever you think about the rest of her policies and politics.

A lot of people who come out with the anti Margaret Thatcher rhetoric were not old enough back in the 1982 to know what was available to the disabled before DLA or to find the incredibly positive change it made to many of our lives.

The Attendance allowance was brought in under Harold Wilson in 1970 and the Mobility allowance was brought in in 1977 under Jim Callaghan. The DLA is just an amalgam of the two.

Cameron has taken me back to the 80s as well. Now all the money he is hoping to get back out of those of us who need it most to help clear the defecit will probably go towards another kick off in the Falklands.Being much younger then..and healthier..politics were of no interest..but i am reliving now what my mother must have gone through as a disabled parent...with Thatchers little soldier running the country instead.I think Pink Floyd should do a new version of "Southampton Dock".
I am attending the funeral of a friend next week who had been on incapacity for some years due to several different health problems and couldn't work.He was going through the same stressful time as many of ourselves are at the moment by miraculously being healed by ATOS at their sham assessments. He recently visited the GP and said he was feeling very down and thought he was depressed but the GP ruled out depression.Last Tuesday morning he took the dog lead and hung himself in the downstairs toilet of his house.Hang your head Cameron you infidel. You are destroying the lives of the needy and the poor and taking the country backwards instead of forwards.

Well, as one of "Thatchers Little soldiers" and I take great exception to that comment by the way, I am proud of what we did in the Falklands and I am proud of teh way that mrs Thatcher killed the Marxists in the NUM who wanted to destroy democracy and replace it with a non elected state.
The whole reason that we have to see such massive ciuts is down to Blair and his bunch of right wing Socialists who spent evey penny, every piece of Gold reserves we had whilst making 2 million manufacturing jobs dissapear abroad to be replaced by minimum wage service industry jobs.
That is not saying that i support Cameroon and his mini-me Liberal, they are as far away from true CXonservatism as Blair, infact cameroon is more of a Blairte than anything else. but please, don't denegrate those of us who fought in the Falklands and Northern ireland with such comments as you have done.

You served in the Falklands as Thatchers own personal slave ?

And also Cameron may do the same body language as Blair but does not follow blairs footsteps. Cameron is too much of a Nazi for that.

Other thing is Blair never did any cuts to disabled and Cameron is cutting the disabled to make them bleed....
