ESA APPEALS
ESA claimants who appeal against a decision they are capable of work will be forced to claim JSA or go without benefits, possibly for many months, under a clause in the welfare reform bill currently going through parliament. The government is now consulting on whether their harsh changes to the appeals procedure go far enough and we are urging readers to respond.

What a total joke even while everyones benefit gets cut into financial hardship!!!

Its getting damn worse with the appeals reform... Its more than cruel... Its totally killing disability claiments!!!

i remember some years ago when i appealed to a disability benefit i ended up having to manage on £40.00 a week! some kids get more in pocket money.

thank the heavens i had a good caring family.

it is like they simply see us who have disabilities as a burden and are doing everything to get rid.

amazes me when they say we will get the disabled back to work when they are nearly 3million struggling to find employment and many more facing redundancy.

if the able body find it tough then what chance have we got.

It is a joke, on us. This it designed to stop us appealing. I think they have looked at how many appeal benefits & win. I suspect somewhere they are also going to make it harder to win appeals too.

Now you are being silly, there are jobs we are told this, you must be wrong as they cannot be. There are jobs out there, thousands every week. That is enough for us all they think. They forget that people leave jobs & get others, there is a constant flow. They ignore the fact that there are not 3 million new jobs every year & no one leaves a job & gets another one. They love to use how many jobs are available as a fix for all.

It's nothing new.

Back in 2007 while appealing my IB decision, I had to live off reduced rate Income Support of £47.50 for nearly 8 months.
