    (c)ESA Pension Income rules

Pension scheme "survivor benefits" - specifically, payments made to an offspring of a deceased pensioner by his Pension Scheme on the grounds of severe permanent disability:

would such income fall within the "pension income" rules of (c)ESA? (recipient aged between 18-60)

    Thank you.

Not if paid to a non dependent or dependant child. It would be ignored by ESA. Only Pension income paid to you is counted.

Unless the person getting the pension is themselves claiming ESA, then it has to be declared to ESA.

For Contribution Based ESA, any pension income over £85 a week is taken into account and the ESA is reduced by 50% of the weekly sum over £85.
