Decrease the temporary absence period abroad from 26 weeks to four weeks or such other period as is considered reasonable for Personal Independence Payment/DLA pensioners (AA only)

Old people no longer able to spend winter in the sun and keep dla ?

That is very unfair. Pensioners getting taxed more on Budget 2012 is bad enough as it is!

I have to say I agree on the pensioners part. Why should taxes pay for someone to what is essentially live abroad? They are not contributing financially to the UK while abroad, just taking the money out of the country. At least here the money goes to businesses here & some goes back into the confers to help more people.

I see many things in PIP I do not like, in the process of switching. I can see a lot of problems, & people losing out, not because they are turned down for PIP, because of how the process of changing from DLA tp PIP is going to happen.

The passported benefits which the high rate DLA has, ie blue badge scheme, free bus pass may not carry over for standard PIP mobilty, this will make thousands of disabled people lose out. The whole PIP process sounds a complete mess, it is only going to get worse. I cannot think of anything positive to say about PIP.

That may change though, it has too. Otherwise it will get to the point, where there would be no point in claiming for standard pip mobilty if there are no advantages in getting it.

3.20 Section 77(3) of the Act provides regulation-making powers to set out conditions relating to residence and presence. As Personal Independence Payment is a non means-tested, non-contributory benefit paid out of general taxation, residence and presence conditions are an important part of the eligibility requirements.
