Hi there, I have used an online calculator for pension credit and it shows a certain amount but I am not sure if this includes the amount I am already getting for my state pension or if it is on top.
Does anybody know?
Thanks

I don't think this question can be answered without knowing which online calculator was used. What was the website?

Hi Dee62 I also cannot answere your question,
when my wife retired we contacted Age UK and they organised a benefits advisor from the DWP to come to our house and help us claim the correct benefits and we are so glad we did
Age UK are worth a call
Age UK has said do have there own benefit advisor's who will come and visit you at home plus goes through other benefits to make sure you are getting all you are entitle to.
Ring Pension Credit helpline who will tell you there and then if you can qualify. They will ask for details of money coming.TD
Hi there, thank you all so much for the information.
I used the DWP government website calculator.

Hi, I just tested the pension credit calculator on the DWP website, using the simplest possible input of saying "no" to all incomes, benefits, savings etc. except for a "net" state pension amount of £80 per week.
The calculator produced a pension credit entitlement amount of £52.60 per week. Since this is less than the pension figure, I would interpret this as being additional to the net pension ie the extra one would get on top of what one already gets.
Hope this helps.

Hi there, thank you so much for doing that.
It's the amount you would get on top of any state or private pensions.
