News on IB to ESA migration medicals!

Hi All, I hope that this information may put minds at rest, if I have grasped it correctly!

I don't know how to post link but if you head towards 'Disability Alliance UK' website, there is a full page titled 'Key Aspects of Migration', that page is dated 31/1/2011 and at paragraph 5 (shown by bullet points) it reads:

The date of a customers reassessment will be based on the review date of their Personal Capability Assessment.

My understanding of this is that for those who are presently in receipt of Incapacity Benefit and (like me for example) their IB review date is September, 2011, that this date will more then likely be the date for my migration/date I should receive medical questionnaire under the new WCA (ESA medical).

If anybody has any different readings from this page on Disability Alliances website please clarify my thoughts.

News on IB to ESA migration medicals!

    Hi All,

I may have posted my original thread in the wrong forum! If possible would a moderator please move my thread from 'News and general discussion' forum to this forum.

Or for those who wish to know a little more regarding when we are expected to be migrated over to ESA go straight to the 'News and general discussion' forum and please read the news I have come across from the Disability Alliance website updated on 31/1/2011.

If I have grasped the content of the Disability Alliance websitee news correctly, it means that those of us on IB and have a review date, then that would be the date that we should expect to receive ESA50!

In addition, I would appreciate clarification of the point I raise in my post as mentioned above!

If this is the case, this should give some of us a little breathing room, or if I am mistaken what exactly does the update (as referred to in my post on 'News and general discussion' forum mean?

    Many thanks for any resonses.

Hi, this is a similar question that i asked on my thread , "ib medical date finally received" and other threads, there are various views on the subject, like it will be the ones not tested for years, who are done first, it will be the youngsters, it will be the exempt, take your choice, i took up this issue with my MP who arranged for someone to contact me, some details are given about that on other threads.

I am no expert, but i was firmly lead to believe, that under normal circumstances the review date or later, depending on their workload, was when transfer, providing one is still found to qualify, will take place, there could of course be exceptions to this, no one really knows.I have also read similiar comments , by others on different sites, who are advisers on these matters.

Another thing that i have just thought of is, there are several interesting sites you could look at, some you have to pay to post on but you can read the forums, you probably know this already, i will not name any as i don't know if it is allowed under the new rules, although on the old site people used to do so. yes spencer I agree with your understanding

IB review dates will be the migration date / period to ESA

do not know where that will leave me though, they are saying
    ...................
Between October 2010 and Spring 2014 customers who receive Incapacity Benefit, Severe Disablement Allowance and Income Support paid on the grounds of illness or disability will be assessed for Employment and Support Allowance
    ..................
my review date is 2014 and I reach retirement age (65) at the end of 2014,

just a thought, is there anyone on IB who's review date is later than spring 2014, if so, where do they fit in ?

janetB, As are many, that's why the government plans, must take longer than planned to implement.

Ive read they intend to start the Migration mid March 2011 but no idea who they are checking first?

I though being 65 anytime in 2014 would exempt you no mattter when your Birthday but they dont actually say?

I get Pension Credit and do not need to attend work focused interviews. I'm also led to believe that if i lose IB i will be put on full Pension Credit? Then another problem arises if IDS brings in Universal Credit 2013 where will i stand? Will i be paid just for myself and cant claim for my Nearest/Dearest plus all the bits and pieces that go with it?

    Hi TD
I am on IB and reach retirement age (65) in September 2014, so I do not know what the DWP has planned fot me

I have also worked for 40 years and paid 40 years National Insurance contributions.

my review date is 2014, wionder if DWP will migrate me onto ESA for 6 months ( spring to September )

why not retire me now I've paid my full contributions

maybe the DWP are just making things up as they go along.
