    DLA Blind & HRM

    Hi all

Don't know if there are any other Registered blind people on this forum,

I am Registered Blind and have been so for 27yrs and worked 25yrs of them

The RNIB campaigned for the HRM elemants of DLA which they won and the benefit is to start on 1st April 2011

Today I have received a letter from the DWP saying, that after contacting my eye specialist, they are pleased to inform me that I quallify / meet the criteria for HRM, and is a Indefinate award

I did receive a telephone call 2 weeks ago from the Pension Disabbillaty Department asking me to send my Registation papers, but as I was registered in 1984 and have moved home 3 times, I could nor find them,
they said ir was OK as they would contact my eye specialist

also said that it is being done in an alphabetical order I am fairly close to A

Thanks great news well done. They sent me a form to fill out as they had my old telephone number so couldn't call me. They ask for my CVI but I was reg in 1984 so was trying to locate this but after many weeks was unable to. I've moved areas 3 times since 1984.

I went to see my eye specialist who wrote me a letter stating my eye sight details, and I sent this back with the form.

Do you think this will be ok? my surname starts with B wonder how long it will be before I find out?

so if you have sent in a registartion form and you meet the criteria for HRM elemant of dla you should soon hear I would have thouhjt,

Many thanks I shall just wait and see then. I spoke to them today they said if I've sent in a letter from my specialist then it saves them a job unless they need more information so I'll wait for their reply.
