Well he's been MP for Westmorland & Lonsdale since 2005, re-elected twice, so they must like him there.

Of course he's going to have some o-fish-ialy hot opposition this time.

It wouldn't be a proper General Election without a daft candidate or two.

    PS.
I see that Mr Fish Finger is making all the news reports on line.

    Mr FISH FINGER:
    Thanks for info nukecad.
I wonder who/what might stand in opposition to Penny Mordaunt.
    Any suggestions anyone?

    Possibly Mr Will Chair.

    ELECTION CANDIDATE?

We`ve been having a bit of fun about Mr Fish Finger and I jokingly suggested an opponent to Penny Mordaunt.
But seriously folks, if Mr Fish Finger can raise enough to fund his campaign, can`t we nominate a candidate to oppose Penny Mordaunt and draw attention to the victims of PIP ?
We need someone to stand or to propose a candidate, set up a funding (as Mr Fish Finger did), and get sufficient nominations in the constituency.
If anyone things this is a good idea, then perhaps (if it allowed) a new thread should be created.

    The basic requirement are:
    http://www.parliament.uk/about/mps-a...ps/candidates/

I think for maximum press impact it should to be a wheelchair using candidate.

I believe that the deadline for registering as a candidate is 11th May.

Anybody live in Portsmouth, it's too far 'darn Sarth' for me.

I'd pledge some into a crowdfunding though.

    PS.
Just to add, I am NOT Mr Fish Finger. (I'm in the wrong constituency for one thing).

That's a brilliant idea. The first person to spring to mind as a candidate is the former paralympian Tanni Grey Thompson who I know has spoken out against PIP assessments in the past. She's also a very good public speaker, I attended an event she spoke at a couple of years ago. The one massive snag is she would need to give up her seat in the House of Lords to become an MP so that's probably a non starter unfortunately.

For some reason I have to click on the video once it's running to get the sound?

    ELECTION CANDIDATE

Thanks guys for the positive response to the idea.
I am in the Midlands and in any case would probably want to rule myself out as a possibility.
Does someone want to set up a new thread on Benefits forums on this topic?
I will also pledge something to the crowdfunding for whoever stands
