I' ve just heard that due to a serious fire at a German chemical factory that supplies a component of resin which is used in modern auto bakes and solar panels there is a worldwide shortage. It seems this one plant provides half of the required demand and whilst no announcements have yet been made possible production slowdowns are being discussed.
If it provides half, that suggests a big slowdown unless the other factories have unused capacity.
I understand that there is only one other unit in production & that's in China where most goes to the photovoltic industry. I guess it's one of the downsides to our 'just in time' supply & distribution society.
