    Any Housing Benefit Experts?

Hi all, I really need help with this, we are in private rented accomodation and at the min my son, daughter and nephew live here with me and hubby. They all work full time but, as hubby gets dla and income support we only pay a small amount towards the rent but, as my nephew is moving out this year we have been told by friends we will have to pay extra money. We have 4 bedrooms plus 2 livingrooms (allowed as its all adults in the house)but, from what I can understand we will have an amount for 2 rooms deducted from our benefit. Can anyone let me know roughly how much per room we would have deducted. The only info I seem to get is for LHA but, we are still on HB. Thanks Jacqui

LHA is how HB is worked out, LHA in itself is not a benefit.

Any non dependent under the age of 18 is ignored by Housing Benefit even if working.

If your husband gets DLA care, any non dependents are ignored any way regardless of their income.

Hi thankyou for the replies, I have finnaly managed to get the answers off the housing office who have looked at our claim. We get hb and not lha and so the lady says there they will not be transfering us over unless there is a break in our tenancy and even when my nephew moves out even though we will have extra rooms we will not have to pay any extra. I was concerned as we will have the spare bedrooms and friends have had to pay extra for empty rooms. We have never had to pay for son, daughter and nephew even though they are all over 20yrs and in full time work but, this was really worrying us.
