    Another question about review dates.

After my husband received notification that his ib would continue and he was not required to undergo assessment, because he suffered from a what they described, as a "severe illness", i am still unable to find out, after much research, what happens regarding ESA.

The DWP, a couple of weeks ago, told me that they are still able to give 3 year review dates to people who get enough points, which he always has, now they have said he no longer requires a review as he is too ill!! so, we have not got a review date this time, but he has been told they will carry on paying his benefit as long as he is ill!

The only definite info. i can find is that transfer to ESA will happen when a person on IB is due for review which he won't be.

I expect i will have to ring them regarding this, unless anyone here is in a similar position and has already done so.

PLEASE, don't advise me about exempt people, as i have heard all there is on this subject, and i am only concerned regarding other people in this position, the doctor told him not to worry as everything will be ok, but i can't help wondering.

The way i am starting to react to these things suggests i will be on ESA myself before long!!

Hi Jan, try not too stress too much, no matter what the transfer date is sounds like your husband is most likely to be transferred in to the support group. ( which I would think would be done without seeing him again, for at least a couple of years...) I think your husband is most likely to go to the end of the list now which would mean he would not be due to transfer until 2013/2014..Of course this is my opinion only based on the information...

That is what has annoyed me so much about all this transfer business, there is so much mucking about and changing things I spent money on my credit card on the basis that SDA people will be moved last.( for essential dental treatment) ( DWP WORDS) Now I hear I could be one of the first... Now I am at my wits end trying to pay it back "just in case" I JUST WISH they would stop treating us like second class citizens just because they know most of us can't stick up for ourselves. They are making us all out to be frauds what happened to innocent until proved guilty.I am fed up with the sleepless nights due to the fact they will not give us the facts.

Hi Sue, yes it is the way i am thinking, as i feel the doctor has tried to help him, by not giving a review date, it was obvious to her that he can't mix with people and social interaction is one of the things they consider when deciding if someone is capable of work, apart from the many other problems he has, as you say it's the way they keep changing things that is so confusing. My mother in law rang last night as her roof was leaking!! what could i do? only sympathise

As i have said before don't believe all you read much of it is propaganda , I hope your finances improve, i will let you know if i win the lottery!!

    BEST Regards, Jan xx

Sue ive seen also those on SDA are going to be first migrated?

I was transffered from Invalidity Benefit to IB and are on the same position as Sue.

That being said as im on Pension Credit and fail medical i do not need to have WFI interviews?

Also heard the change over maybe later then said the software wont be in place?

Hi trickiedickie, Thanks for your good wishes, i am sure that whatever they decide to do that my husband will be ok, it's just that you worry about how they do things. My husband will be 60 next week, and reading between the lines,i am hoping that he will be placed in the support group when eventually they decide his fate.

The people at the DWP often do not know the rules, i was reading about one person on ESA in the support group who was told to go for a work focused interview, or have his money stopped! this was a mistake only put right by a benefits advisors intervention.

Like you, my husband has been ill since before they gave review dates infact he has only ever had one in 2006, he had all the early medicals carried out by the dss doctors and when the new system started he had the ib50 in 1995, then in 1997, i then contacted my MP who replied offering his sympathy and my husband received his next ib50 in 2006! i don't know if he spoke to them or not.

After his 2006 medical he was given his first ever review time of 3 years which ended up being well over 4 years. He has never been told he was exempt. but as i have often said, every doctor he has seen has either, asked him very few questions or looked horrified that he had even been sent for. I am sorry if this is repetitive but it shows others how confusing the system has always been, as you have probably experienced yourself.

Good luck to you in the future, and once again sorry to keep repeating myself,

    Regards, Jan

Hi Jan. Keeping all crossed for you that hubby will be okay?
I'm sure those idiots at DWP make up the rules on a daily basis. (Idiots is to polite)
Jan i was called in many years ago told i cant work again end of story so we all thought until all whats going on now.
I get DLA HRM/HRC which keeps medicals at bay but no longer. They are saying if you fail medical kiss goodbye to DLA?
I expect to lose my IB/DLA?
If i lose IB then Pension Credit will make the IB up so my benefit will all be Pension Credit?
Over the years my health has deterated terrible and December 24th 2010 was told ive full blown Crohns Disease. Its a wicked cruel evil disease but they say someone with that can work? Ive no control over my bodily functions. Yes i often soil myself.
Ive also become partially sighted and this week was told ive got to see my eye consultant and register blind. Jan its so hard when your sight is not the same. Please always look after your eyes. Mine was caused by a stroke.

Jan wishing you luck catch you soon? Maybe be better to PM you then i can explain more.

    Regards.

[SIZE="7"] I know about chrones disease as my friend suffers with it, i myself have celiac disease, when i was diagnosed many years ago, and was in intensive care, very little was known about it, if not for the knowledge of one doctor i may not be here now.I have been tested for glaucoma ,but i was ok.

I know much has been said about people being taken off benefits, i can only say again what was said to me, by a doctor, and others that much of what they talk about will not happen.

In my opinion anyone with your problems should be, and will be ok. Please try not to worry too much. After our recent experience with atos we could not have been treated better, i hope the print is larger, i have tried but never done it before! Jan

As said before by others, and me, there should be a forum where these type of things can be discussed, as advice given is often not noticed on the threads, Jan
