Question advice needed DWP medical advisory panel

can anyone tell what the DWP medical advisory panel is?

i can't find much information about it but am i right in thinking that these are the doctors who sit in on the appeals panel?

if this is the case then i have got a real problem. the dwp and atos are trying to send a doctor to my home for a dla examination who i believe sits on this panel.

i have typed his name over and over and it comes up with this information.

i knew there was something wrong when i first did a background check, this is supposed to be a reconsideration, any help urgently needed.

if this doctor does sit on appeals panels and is also used by atos to do examinations in people's homes would this seriously jeopardise things if i do need to appeal later on for dla.

one thing on monday i have got quite a few questions when i ring dla and a few questions about this doctor as well.

i need to know what i should do about this situation,

you need to direct your complaints to the GMC and ATOS first. there is a chain you have to follow first,if you don't or you do it in the wrong order. You will just be sent away.
The doctor has nothing to do with the DWP,his main employer is ATOS or his local medical council(hospital or surgery). Most ATOS HCP's are moonlighting nurses or doctors, and a few are from within the EU.
need more help. There are people here that have done what you are asking and have won. http://dwpexamination.org/forum/

Please you need to do this right. Check the doctors name appears on the GMC list. it doesn't cost you a penny and can be done online at the GMC web-site. if he doesn't appear there check the NMC web-site as well. some of the doctors are not doctors but specialists in one or more medical condition.

Beau: are you in contact with your site adimin ?
Reason for asking is this. There are to many sites all trying to do the same thing HELP. so a few of us are thinking that if we could have a coffee evening on one site and pool all the information we know, this could make a formidable force in forcing a few changes. at the moment we are using this link to make people aware of whats going on. Please use it freely.

hi have just done a background check on the doctor concerned with the GMC and below is what it is showing:-

this doctor is licensed to practice

this doctor is not on g.p register

this doctor is not on specialist register

as i have 2 urinary conditions not saying on here what they are but as he is not a specialist then what implications could this have when the appeals loom.

going to ring dla now and have some more fun with them,

I have been following this Thread, with concern. What you have just said Mike concerns me even more. I know when I appealed there was a doctor on the panel. I am not sure, cannot remember, if they were just a GP or a specialist in any particular field. They wee very nice to me though, I know this is far from normal. I would think that were possible you do need someone on the panel that has some knowledge on the main condition of an applicant. Someone who have knowledge of disabilities either as a disabled person or a carer, & someone who have knowledge in general. Not sure what the last one means, but maybe I mean someone more impartial to balance things out.

as far as dwp and atos are bothered unless you have a nuro problem ie stroke or MS then you can be seen by anyone nurse dr physio for the check up regards the appeal any dr would have enough practice to manage your problems 4 years uni 6 years hospital work

i spoke to atos this morning and mentioned that i was concerned that this doctor sits on the dwp medical advisory service. they then said if that is the case then it would cause a conflict of interest.

the interesting part came when she tried to say background information may be untrue, are they trying to say that the gmc lie as well? but i have done a gmc search and the only doctor who is showing on their is the same doctor showing as sitting on dwp panels, they told me to ring customer relations.

if this isn't the doctor listed on the gmc who they are sending then he mustn't be registered.

well if this doctor does come and the above is true then when i go to appeals it could get halted due to the conflict of interests, perhaps that is what the dwp are hoping for.

well i have no benefit to loose now so what the heck am i worrying about, these people are so full of it.

one thing which may help anyone out there if the dwp refuse to send your paper work which they hold on you within a certain time limit then you can file a complaint against them by using the link below or phoning 0303 123 1113
