If you've only lost the care component (HRC) and you still get the Mobility (HRM), then you won't lose the car.

If you've lost HRM then you will receive a letter off Motability explaining that the contract has ended and the car will be collected usually 1 month from the end of your entitlement. You will get a pro-rata payment of your original AP back.

You can't private lease the car from Motability, and to my knowledge you can't buy it from them either.
    Motability Car History
    05/2009-05/2012; Nissan Qashqai 1.5 Diesel Tekna; 36,500 miles; avg 41.1mpg (34.2 - 56.5mpg)
    06/2012-Present; Ford C-Max 2.0 Diesel Titanium Powershift; 24,000 miles; avg 38.1mpg (33.6 - 56.7mpg)

    Hi everyone
I've just received my pin number for my new car but to be honest with all these stupid changes going on I'm not sure I want to take out a new car till I receive paperwork saying that my benefits will remain the same, can anyone tell me whether I can cancel this new car and extend my current one

Only if you have done less than 15000 miles after the end of your initial 3-year lease.

    From the Motability website:
    Mo says:
You may be eligible for a Low Mileage Lease Extension.
This would give you the option of keeping the same car for a further 12 or 24 months. All the benefits of Motability and your weekly payment from the relevant benefits agency remain the same.

You need to contact our Customer Services team, at least 14 days before the end of your contract to request this extension.

This option is not available to customers with a Motability leased WAV or Nearly New WAV.

Also the PIN is instead of a signature, so treat it as one.

If you don't put in your PIN, then you haven't 'signed' the new contract.

Thats correct. You can walk away from the car as long as you don't put in the PIN number. No PIN, no contract signed. The dealer wouldnt be happy I would imagine though.

    Canceling New Motability Car

Thank You All for your advice. Spoke to Motability today and yes I can cancel my new car and there is'nt a problem about extending my present car for 6 months. also spoke to dealer and told them I wanted to cancel car they where very understanding and said they will sort it out, no mention of any cancellation fee or admin charge. Big relief Thank You All
