    Must Have Options

There have been many posts on other threads about "must have" options so I will start the ball rolling with my must have top and bottom seven(excludes auto box which I dont consider an extra).
    1. Rear Parking Sensors
    2. Cruise Control
    3. Lumbar Support
    4. Climate Control
    5. Folding Door Mirrors
    6. Auto Dimming Mirrors
    7. Automatic Rain Sensing Wipers

And at the bottom of the list
    1. Leather Seats
    2. Larger Alloy Wheels
    3. Sat Nav (due to exhorbitant cost)
    4. Speaker Upgrade
    5. Xenon Headlights
    6. Sunroof
    7. Multi CD changer

I've been lucky as all those, with the exception of the sunroof, came with my current, non motability car. Some were added butmost where standard. For me the most important things are; Leather, Power seats, Heated front screen, Electronic handbrake, Keyless start, Powerfold mirrors.

Less important are; Air con (never use it), Cruise control (hate it as I find I start to lose concentration), Tinted windows.

One I've always wanted is a TV. Can't justify it but want one for when I'm sat in the car waiting for others

I turn my air con off as it badly affects my fuel consumption. I also find that air con doesnt really cool me down in the car when it is hot. Sometimes opening the window works better.

I only use the climate control (air-con) on the motorway, as it doesn't use any fuel when you are travelling at speed.
Climate control is a neccessity in these situations as the wife likes the temp to be 25C and I prefer 20C, makes a difference over a 5 hour drive!

Opening your window is better below (I think) 40mph than using air-con. It was proven in an Auto Express story a couple of years ago (for modern vehicles only).

Some nonsense being talked her with regards to Air Con, though the majority of cars now have Climate control.
It does not effect you fuel consumption, the climate compressor is runb off your belts at all times and when it is required teh cluch engages.
As for opening the window and driving, do you think that it makes the car better or worse on air flow across the car? of course it disrupts the flow and all development takes place with the windows shut. climate control gives with a decent filtering syustem, a better air quality than opening your window and letting inb all the carbons, poollutants and general dirt
You shold however, run you climate control in the winter to stop the seals from drying up, and it also helps with removal of condensation in the car.

as for it increasing your fuel consumption, well that must be happening on a Foreign car LOL

Somnetime the way people obsess over the fuel consu, ption on here, just get rid of your car and take the bus and taxis.

Have to disagree with you there. I got transferred to a different call centre three years ago, which is 30 miles away. When I first went there, i had the air con in my car all the time. I had put in £20 on the monday, but my tuesday I had to fill up again. I then turned off the air con, and i ended up with better fuel consumption. I drive a automatic, when having the air con all the time, makes full consumption worse. Believe me, it does make a difference. I only have my air con on for about 10 minutes, never the full journey.
