    Question PIP and recent medicals

I am aware that PIP has been mentioned but i was wondering for those of us who have just had recent atos medicals and have got award of benefit how PIP will affect us.

Would those of us who have just had recent medicals be required to undergo yet another when medical when PIP comes in especially as the change over is just round the corner?

Also for those of us who have had medicals and have been awarded indefinite how would this also affect us when the time comes.

someone on here also asked a question wondering if those of us who have just undergone medicals for dla are been assessed under the new scheme to come as something has changed with the way they are carrying out atos dla medicals.

sorry for some really tough questions, it must be like trying to look in to a crystal ball,

    feeling lousy since mini op

PIP starts trialing next year in North West England. If that is successful, then the DWP hope to start PIP nationwide in 2014. Everyone will get reassesed for PIP, even those who have had reviews recently for DLA. Those on indefinite awards will also have to get reassessed. The DWP say that everyone will get assessed by 2016.

i could see some kind of flaw with this system been introduced, basically if people are stuck in the appeals system and then get an award of benefit say a month before PIP starts or starts properly then these people could basically end up been reassessed again within any given time.

i have just been awarded high rate mobility for help with getting around, i would love to have a car but with this farce definitely a big no

like everything going on i can see a total mess happening.

Evey-one will be assessed on PIP through a medical andi'm one of the first to be done as they are starting in Tameside which I'm dreading. So as soon as i've been done i'll come back and tell you what and how the claim form and medical went.
Try not to worry but easier said than done.

i'm on an indefinite award, makes no difference to the DWP,still got to have a medical.
    get well soon Mike.

Assuming your award is longer than 12 months there's nothing to stop you getting a Motability lease, you can get a good selection with nil advance deposit so it wouldn't have to cost you anything & if you've just been awarded higher mobility now you probably will be again.
