    DLA Medical letter received

I got a letter that said as part of my review they didnt have enough information so i would need an assessment/interogation! It stated that medical services would be in touch shortly. I dont answer the phone due to mobility issues and the amount of spam ppi calls. I couldnt get to the door in time on friday and missed the post and a card was put through saying i have a special delivery letter that needs signing for. My question is would this be the letter from medical services as i am not expecting any letters to be sent to me this way from anyone. Do letters get sent this way when you cant get to the phone to talk to them? any advice would be greatly appreciated. also how long do they usually give you as i dont know when someone can get it for me it may be tuesday and should it be in my home?

    Regards

    Jake

As DW says ATOS will contact you by normal post. As it appears you are virtually unable to move and have no regular assistance from anyone, then a home visit will probably be arranged. You will have to sort this out or you could end up losing your benefits.

Well it seems they must have been trying to get in touch for a while to send it recorded delivery.
Make sure you are fully prepared for their visit. Make a complete list of ALL your health problems and how they affect your ability, any medical evidence you may have, xrays, reports etc, have all your meds at hand.
This medical is not about your illness but how it affects your everyday life and your ability to do or not do things.
If you can try to get someone there with you.
    Good luck.

That is short notice and I have never heard of ATOS sending special delivery letters after a 2 day notice from the DWP, they must be desperate for work. You did not say where they wanted to do this examination, I'm assuming it's a home visit due to your mobility problems.
You do know that you are not bound to take this examination on the 1st date and location they give you.
