I have twin girls aged 16 , both get DLA(high rate) , both are in the supported group for ESA yet one gets 212.90 a fortnight and the other gets 199.10 a fortnight.
Why are they on 2 different rates? I phoned and asked the DWP but they refused to compare the 2 different cases
you need to look at the updating letters to see a break down of each award
and they will never compare cases
If you don't have updating letters you can ask DWP to send you breakdown of each.
I think Im going to have to phone them again, why is it so complicated? surely both girls should get the exact same amount as they have exactly the same circumstances?
You are right they should get the same, however the only thing I can come up with is that as with CB the first or eldest child recieves more than the siblings. In this case that may be only a few minutes with twins but that is the only explanation other than an error on their part. A letter showing the breakdown of how their benefits are worked out is the best way to pin point exactly where the difference is.
