From the BBC web site

What does this mean ? will people who won't take medication because of side affects lose benefit or if you decide not to have an op because of risks you lose benefit?

and of course the other one they can go for over weight people MUST lose weight to cut risk to heart and damage to joints ?


Now when someone posts that people with drink and drug problems should take help thats normaly seen as a good idea


But what about this idea I think its a good idea as I am f**** and wont get better and there are no steps I can take and if there was I would take them

But most people would end up catching some fall out from this idea ............ open for comments

Yes, overweight people need help badly, but as I have posted in other Threads, not all of us are overweight through choice. I cannot get the drugs I need, & I learnt yesterday why. Because they are being sold to EU countries because the drug companies can make more money. So next time you hear of a supply issue, you know why, it is happening with all drugs.

Some of the other ideas for changing benefits are of concern too:
- You will have to read, write & count to claim benefits. Of course everyone should be able to do that these days, but the solution is to help people learn to, not prevent them claiming benefits.
- Paying some benefits in kind rather than money. I am not sure what this could mean, which benefits & what they would give instead of money.
- Reduce the amount of benefit paid to people over time. This is a very serious step & will hit those on long-term benefits, again through no fault of their own. In any country this happens it does not help people back to work. In fact, in America it means people end up living in their cars.

Yes, Cammy, Gove & their cohorts have gone insane. I am not a Labour man as I am a Socialist, but I am now considering voting for them to try to keep the Tories out.

Just heard Camron talking on "PM" show in kind looks like food stamps

also talk of lower benefits for "up north" that seems to be aimmed at housing benefit

I am not opposed to Food Stamps, but there will be strict limits. Will everywhere take them? Can we get all kinds of foods? What about pots, pans, plates, spoons, etc? Will it include other household items? Benefits cover a whole life. I know of people in America who find it very hard to use FSs in some areas & to get what they need, especially is the store they use is out of something. I cannot see our government doing it all properly.

Food stamps already exist in the form of "milk vouchers" given to mothers of babies when on certain benefits. These can also be used for fresh fruit and veg. One young mother that I know sells the vouchers to her mum for the family shop and then spends the cash on fags.

Yes, but that is a small aspect of what could be planned. I just cannot see it working properly, no matter what.
