Yes, overweight people need help badly, but as I have posted in other Threads, not all of us are overweight through choice. I cannot get the drugs I need, & I learnt yesterday why. Because they are being sold to EU countries because the drug companies can make more money. So next time you hear of a supply issue, you know why, it is happening with all drugs.
Some of the other ideas for changing benefits are of concern too:
- You will have to read, write & count to claim benefits. Of course everyone should be able to do that these days, but the solution is to help people learn to, not prevent them claiming benefits.
- Paying some benefits in kind rather than money. I am not sure what this could mean, which benefits & what they would give instead of money.
- Reduce the amount of benefit paid to people over time. This is a very serious step & will hit those on long-term benefits, again through no fault of their own. In any country this happens it does not help people back to work. In fact, in America it means people end up living in their cars.
Yes, Cammy, Gove & their cohorts have gone insane. I am not a Labour man as I am a Socialist, but I am now considering voting for them to try to keep the Tories out.
