    ESA Assessment and Caring

    My ESA Assessment and Caring

    Hi
a new member here Dean i'll try and keep it short

I'm after some advice on ESA Assessments and what will happen in my situation and being a carer too
And if i lose IB DLA IIB what will i get

    I'm a good 50+ in age i haven't worked in over 10 yrs
i currently get (DLA) Disability living allowance (IB) Incapacity Benefit (IIB) Industrial Injuries Benefit
i have been contacted by DWP and they are sending me a ESA Assessment form

i have chronic asthma a industrial disease a Variable condition recently after chest x-ray Gp says i have pleural thickening of the lungs too
i've had various medicals assessments with DWP sent to private hospitals and a Medical assessment at home by a DWP Consultant in the past
been told to carry on as i am, GP Does a yearly assessment and meds reviews every 6 months too thats the same no change in meds etc carry on
i have various medications inhalers and use a nebuliser 4x a day because of my condition

I'm going to fill the form in the best i can
a local disability group office i use is packed with appointments up to the end of Aug and CAB Will be the same so i might not get to see them on a one to one appointment
before i have to send the form back

where do i start if im assessed as fit in some way will DWP Notify DLA & IIB Depts of there finding will i auto lose those benefits ?
Will DLA, IIB Send me for a medical or just take ESA Ruling ?
as far as i know you can appeal against ESA if i fail there assessment that's something i would consider

The Caring part i do last yr my wife was critically ill with severe septicemia and bacterial meningitis
she gets Full DLA And after loads of tests MRI CT Nerve tests etc she has impaired judgment, severe Short term memory loss.including loss of cognitive function
very poor mobility awful muscle wastage she needs help with dressing bathing medication she cant be left on her own
she has nerve damage so she drops everything she tries holding picking up she cant do her insulin she cant read labels or understand things
you can tell her something 10 mins later shes forgot she needs help at night and has continence probs
she has to be taken to endless GP Hospital Rehab appointments

if im put into a work group or work training etc who will care for her 24/7 ?

reading stories of the ESA This ^ is going to be a nightmare and very complicated

any Advice appreciated on what i can - can't get and the wifes needs

    Thanks Dean

the postion your in with a sick wife has to be taken into considiration by the DWP at a stage where they are looking to place you in work or on a course should that happen ........... you should get expert advice try the cab or as you need to take your wife to hospital see if they have a welfare advice worker

If ESA is stopped then sometimes, not always DLA will review the claim. They will not just stop it. Being a carer does not automatically exclude you from benefit. Seek adviceif you are worried,or if you get reviewed. If the worse happens appealeach anf any decision, and claim Carers Allowance if ESA stops, you can still appeal.
