Fill it in and see what happens you may have been under-claiming for a long time or you may not be entitled to an income based ESA top up.

I have just crossed over and on my notice letter it stated i was entitled to both contribution based and income based ESA (i am also in support group ) However i did recieve a small income support top up when on IB .

The bad news is that contribution based ESA which replaced contribution based ICB is only paid for one year and then it stops. So by filling in the ESA3 you will be told if you can get any means tested ESA which will depend on any other income you have.

I could be totally wrong however i was under the belief that if you are in the support group the one year rule on contribution based ESA does not apply .

Correct. The contribution based work related activity ESA stops after a year.
