Just a warning for anyone flying out from Manchester Airport if you need wheelchair assistance. Some idiot has brought in a job lot of manual wheelchairs which foot plates dont swing out and the arms are not removable, so, if you need to use the toilet, and cant get out, or find it difficult to get out, of the chair you are going to find it very difficult to get near the toilet. Also because the arm cannot be removed you cannot do a side transfer so you have to be lifted over the arm and out of the chair.
Its obvious that the person who authorised, or bought, them hasn't got a clue when it comes to disabled people.
So if you do need assistance check the chair before you get in it as the assistance people said they still have a few of the other left.
