It will open in the PDF reader, I have to say from the old IB form it has been made simpler but a hell of a lot of the descriptors have been removed like bending down, stooping and getting up.

I also see they are basically saying that pain does not count for much anymore. But I suspect I will squeeze through because I have serious problems walking, and I have no bladder control as such and I have bowel problems which caused me to have basically a bowel movement at least once or more times a day without any control.

But looking at the mental health area my god thats going to be difficult

Thanks Derekq that's very interesting - thanks for sharing. No doubt I'll be filling one in soon - not that I'll get any money even if I answer all the questions right to put me in the support group. Hey ho.

    Hello Treborc, Lighttouch & Richard.

Yes all your observations are correct, it has been "tailored" in favour of atos/dwp/goverment to get us into a corner, one thing useful is being able to work out your answers ahead of time, this is of course assuming that its not yet again ammended!!! seems to be there favorite trait keeping us guessing.
Probably this will be the ESA50 that they will run with as its this month they will be starting there witch hunt.
Good luck to all who have to fill out this form.

    Regards, Derekq

Thank You for the Link which opened up for me in PDF. Ive not looked fully at it as of this time im just to ill to study the form. Looks time consuming with trick questions. Like Treboc ive got no control over my bowels and soil myself at least 3/4 times a week. That means change of underwear and other clothing. Like all of us its a waiting game.

Hi all. Like you I have a serious Kidney disease which effects my heart - blood pressure and worst of all serous pain for which I have to use morphine injections as and when required. The slightest of knocks can cause any of the many cysts on my Kidneys to burst resulting in even more pain followed by the passing of blood and clots through my urine. Please can anyone here help? as I am never to sure how you are supposed to answer these questions..
I was once told you have to answer the questions by telling them what it is like for you on your worst day! Can anyone say if this i9s correct?
    Thanks in advance.

Of course some people may not have a worse day or may have the same problems everyday, these dam forms are still a nightmare to fill in, with trick questions needing answers that we might fall for.

I would suggest unless your experienced at filling in forms then ask your local socials services for help, ask the CAB ask Dial or many of the so called law firms that help the disabled ask somebody, after all if your that disabled then it's highly unlikely you can use a pen anyway

    Hi SNIPERmac
Sorry to hear of your many problems, only hope things improve for you in time.
Yes, treborc is correct, the verious forms i.e. esa50 are like a mine field of questions that require you to give answers, the answers you give will have an big effect further down the line, I personally fell that the answers can be interpreted in many different ways, these forms have been set out and written in such a manner that you can very easly give answers that do not reflect your true dissabilities and illness.

So, I would make a few telephone call to the bodies treborc has mentioned and get advice, good place to start is Citizens Advice bureau.

A good point made by treborc is that if your well enough to fill in the forms they will say your half way to being o.k., we are not playing on a level playing field, remember.

Before filling in any forms get a note pad or like and write your answers out first and when done, STOP, read through several times and make sure you have put everything down correctly to your own mind, possibly get help with filling in the forms by a third party.

Let us nkow how you get on, good luck.

Question sorry to bother you all

but I was wondering if anyone here knew the address to which this questionnaire is to be returned to?

I have TWO different envelopes from questionnaires sent to me but it doesn't actually state anywhere in them where each one if meant to go just "return with envelope provided" and I now don't know which is for which lol.
Getting to the local job centre is a mission for me and I have no landline to call them on so I was just hoping that MAYBE someone here who is also having to fill out an ESA50 might know.

Sorry to bother you all with such a stupid and trivial thing I should just pin everything together as I get them to save such stuff happening.

Thank you in advance to any and all who help.
    xxx
