    Question care allowance

    hi guys, im on middle care at the moment but my condition has deteriated i now need help bathing, preparing food going out n about and i suffer double incontinence. i was wondering if it was worth rockin the boat and pushin for high rate or just accepting what i,ve got

    Good question. Well if you already get the middle rate of DLA Care you probably won't be assessed until 2013 to see if you qualify for the new PIP which replaces DLA.

    Have a word with a social worker. If you have a photocopy of your previous DLA application do your symptoms look worse than before. If yes, then go for it in my opinion.

    Often they will look at your whole claim again, this happens sometimes you apply to have the care upgraded and they say ok we will look at your whole claim. If you feel that your willing to take the risk then I'd go for it. just something to keep in mind

    You need to show you have care needs at night after going to bed in order to be considered for an increase. The middle rate care is for daytime help only.
