    Worried beyond worried !

I am so worried about the proposed changes to DLA and the "50m rule" as in being able to propel yourself that far ?

Is it definitely coming in and when.

If it does I will lose my home, its as simple as that

I have buried my head in the sand so far, but its really starting to get to me now

    Walking
The activity of walking has been replaced by the activity of ‘mobilizing’, with the fifteen points for ‘Cannot walk at all’ to be removed. Instead of looking at how far you can walk with a walking stick or other aid if such aid is normally used, the test is now ‘Mobilizing with or without a walking stick, manual wheelchair or other aid if such aid can reasonably be used’

Of course if you cannot go 50mtrs without stopping then you would be deemed to me unable to mobilize, people who walk with walking stick or crutches will now be deemed to be mobile. Electric wheelchair users will be deemed unable to walk.

I do hope that won't be the case for you andypandy....I am still very confused about the new test...Where have the descriptors for needing someone to keep an eye on you gone for example?

AP don't worry. For a start it's ages away before they'll be reassessing existing DLA claimants. In fact it's 2 years away That will give them time to review the process and get it sorted. You just carry on doing what you're doing they won't remove DLA or any other benefits.

Thanks LT, Treborc says they have brought it in already, but I have just been checking and can't see where they have brought it in , so I feel better.

Thank you for that. I think I have upset Treborc in a previous life as he really don't like me LOL and likes me to worry.

I suffer really badly with depression and SH so not getting the correct information affects me badly

Hope you have had a good sunday :-)

God if you were an expert on disability you'd be sitting on a big seat with white clouds and Jesus and Tony Blair arguing who sits next to you
