What defines a disabled person, what I mean is are you disabled because you lose a foot or a leg, I know people who play for Wales and England disability football teams who travel all over the EU playing football, most play as amputees, using crutches, I know people who have no legs at all and play football at a very very high standard, they now of course get DLA because if you have lost two legs your entitled because you cannot walk, to get this benefit.
Under the new WCA and I suspect PIP's if your mobile by using crutches wheelchairs or walking stick we will not be able to claim these benefits, because it's not about your loss, but whether your mobile.
A person loses one hand should he get benefits or DLA, I know people who do get it.
Should a person who has one full leg missing and can use crutches have benefits including DLA.
The reason I ask the question I asked Labour , I was told to many people are claiming benefits while enjoying a normal life, are the disabled not to have a normal life.
A lady who claimed to have depression/bad back, she was able to get DLA and IB she then went on holiday skiing in France and water skiing in Spain, she said just because I have an illness does not mean I cannot have a normal life style.
We have just seen a lady who jumped out of a plane, strapped to an instructor landed OK and has now had her benefits stopped although we are told because she was also working, but the judge said if you had a bad back then you could not be doing the things you did.
But as a disabled person can I not have a Holiday, can I not jump out of a plane, or ski, or water sport or play football, can I do these things while claiming benefits.
I was informed if you lead an active life while having a disability or illness then in fact you should be seeking work and not claiming benefits, interesting....
I've never had a holiday, just asking.
